SPEECHLESS.
May 9, 2007
I wrote this one because I didn’t know what else to do with the weight of it. Some calls leave you with too many words. Others take them all away. This was the latter. It wasn’t just the scene or the outcome—it was the look on the family's faces, the kind of raw, soul-deep pain that leaves no room for noise. I remember getting back to the garage and trying to talk it out with my partner, but nothing came. Writing this post was my way of honoring the silence—of admitting that sometimes, even the ones who are supposed to know what to do are left standing there, speechless.
