NO MORE PLAYING IN THE PLAYGROUND ALONE.
January 23, 2007
I wrote this one after stumbling onto another medic’s blog—raw, honest, and hilarious in all the best ways. It reminded me that we’re not alone in this chaos. That out there, scattered across stations and time zones, are other medics who live the same absurd, heartbreaking, ridiculous reality we do. So when they threw out a challenge to share five weird or little-known facts about ourselves, I figured—why not? It was a chance to step outside the usual blood-and-guts and let some personality in. This post is lighter, but still true to the job: the quiet heartbreaks, the bodily functions, the moments that make us human underneath the uniform. And the dog story? Yeah, that one still gets me.
